I really prefer using metal edging over say stone or rubber. It is easier to work with and looks better, in my opinion. These ones are nice and tall and can hold back a good amount of material.
Seems to be a really good value for 20 feet
I ordered these because I was getting tired of treating the turf along a shared fenceline for the dollarweed & dichondra that kept trying to creep in from my neighbor's yard. I waited to install these until we had a few good rain showers, so the ground would be softer, making it easier to pound these into place. I definitely recommend using these for straight installations, slight curves, or large circles, but not for bends with tighter curves - the metal is strong & heavy & does not bend easily. The quality & aesthetic is fantastic. The teeth themselves are 1.2" long, and the remaining height is 4.8", so you can hammer this down with anywhere from 0 to 4.8" protruding from the ground, which makes this great for a landscape border or weed barrier. My purpose was a weed barrier, so I kept about two inches out of the ground. So far so good too! I haven't seen any new weeds creeping in from next door since I put these down! Very happy with these so far, and expect them to last many years, so the price tag (currently around $90) seems reasonable & competitive with similar products.
These are beautiful! They bend easily for installation of curves but stand up strong to the mallet and don’t bend while hammering in. I love that they come with joiners and gloves! I didn’t bother using the nuts and bolts on the joiner pieces because they are already sturdy enough. Great value, definitely buying more.
